Re: Favorite Dinghy Accessories

We laminate the registration with one of those home laminators to make it waterproof, then store it in a pocket of the under seat storage bag.

Re: Cruising Guide Recommendation - Florida to Maine Outside

Jim, We're very familiar with the CCA online guide for Maine. Our home port is Yarmouth, ME and we use the guide religiously when we cruise. Thanks.

Re: Cruising Guide Recommendation - Florida to Maine Outside

Thanks for these tips. Air draft is is 73 ft 1 in, Draft is 7 ft 0 in. Rather limiting for most of the inlets in Florida and Georgia it seems.

Re: Cruising Guide Recommendation - Florida to Maine Outside

Thank you. That makes sense, but everything we’ve found is about the ICW, which our air draft prohibits. We need to sail outside, but want to know all the places to tuck in for breaks and/or weather....

Cruising Guide Recommendation - Florida to Maine Outside

We plan to sail from Florida to Maine on the outside starting in Spring. There are surprisingly few cruising guides that come up (or my online search skills leave to be desired).

Can anyone...

Re: Transfer Starlink Dishy

Thanks. I read that bit. It covers one owner getting rid of a dish and a new owner signing up for a new service. Again, my question is whether, as new owner, I can transfer an existing service to the...

Re: Transfer Starlink Dishy

That's my understanding too... that the dish is tightly associated with the account and it's not just a swap. Seems like the best option is to swap dishes. I was hoping to avoid it because the new...

Re: Transfer Starlink Dishy

Thank you. It’s clear how to create a new account on a dish somebody transferred. In this case, we already have an account associated with our own dish. Can we disassociate our account from our...

Transfer Starlink Dishy

We have 7 AGM batteries: 4 house, 1 starter and 2 bow thruster. They have performed well for 6 season. Next year will be the 7th season. I’ve heard different philosophies:

We have a B&G NAIS500 and NSPL500. Other vessels...

Re: Diesel in Fresh Water Tank - The Cardinal Sin

Thanks. Plastic unfortunately. I've heard about natural solutions by which microorganisms are introduced into the tank to "eat" the residual diesel. Not sure it's something you can find off the shelf.

Diesel in Fresh Water Tank - The Cardinal Sin

Almost too embarrassed to post this. I finally made the mistake I dreaded and avoided for 50+ years of sailing... putting diesel into a fresh water tank. I'll spare the explanation and bring on the...
