As a family we have bareboat chartered Greece (Ionian and Peloponnese), Croatia, Turkey, South of France and Majorca- truly you are spoiled for choice and will have a wonderful time... as has been...

Re: Best stowaway bikes for cruisers??

Nice one, Sailingmartin - perhaps these pics will inspire a Brompton owner gallery of exotic locations!

Re: Best stowaway bikes for cruisers??

Big thumbs up for the Brompton mentions - we love ours. Awesome build quality and the folding system is super smooth as well as compact. Here are a few pics to show them half folded on a cruise...

Re: Teak decks

My wife and I were invited on board for drinks on a beautiful Jongert 20m ketch last year in the Ionian: traditional, original teak decks. The owner swore by salt water only, scrubbing with a firm...

Re: Leopard 45 or 50

The OP’s question is about 45 or 50 - the Sisu/YouTube suggestion relates to seeing if the 45 works as a couples’ boat or if he needs bigger.

Re: Leopard 45 or 50

Check out Sailing Sisu on YouTube - South African couple with limited experience to start took a 45 out of Cape Town to the Med successfully. Plenty of boat for a couple...

Re: RYA Competent Crew & Day Skipper Courses

Dubai Offshore Sailing Club runs both, I believe - close to home for you and Dubai is fairly easy to travel to under Covid-19 restrictions. Limitation there is the range of sailing - limited...

Re: Navionics: which ipad will work ???

We use a three year old 12.9 inch iPad Pro with 256GB - an expensive outlay but worth it for the huge memory. As owners in a charter fleet, we like to sail numerous bases as we build up a collection...

Re: Glasses needed...

I highly recommend Maui Jim prescription shades. I had my eyes tested to have them made to my prescription in Dubai and they came back from the factory within two weeks. Brilliant quality all round...

Re: Ideal Boat Bike?

We love our Bromptons - they have carried us happily all over London and Dubai and will soon come along on long term cruising. Great folding, very comfortable, classic cruisers. 218055218056218057
