Oh, and I also found out camping twine is not an acceptable substitute for a topping lift in ridiculously high winds. That was an exciting moment of disaster last Sunday.

I wasn't sure if your work email was still on or not. My cell is 832-465-3352. I'm doing MS 150 this weekend, but I'll be down all next weekend.

Are you doing ok, man? I haven't seen you at the marina in a couple weeks.

We're in Missoula. We have a Lido 14 now and have been sailing in some lakes in the Seeley area as well as Flathead. We're excited to start doing some overnighters up at Flathead as well as explore some other lakes, such as Canyon Ferry, Yellowstone, etc.

I'm still not running. Our first attempt to start it found the ignition switch completely frozen. Got that swapped to find the starter completely frozen. I completely disassembled the starter and freed the bendix with a gear puller. In the meantime I had changed fluids, cleaned out the freshwater system, etc. As of yesterday it finally cranked over with the key, but my battery was too low for a start. I'm crossing my fingers for next weekend.

So I got the lovely letter from Marina Del Sol telling me my rent is going up from $165 to $275 when I renew my lease in January. Looks like we're moving. The Anchorage, which is an apartment complex down the road is only $150 a month and South Shore Harbor told me $215 a month. Any recommendations?

I didn't have much time this weekend. I spent part of Saturday at the boat show and then worked on the plumbing for a couple hours before driving back to Spring Saturday night. I think I'm subconsciously putting off the engine work because I know how slim my chance of that Westerbeke actually running really is and how expensive all my other options are.

Sailmonkey, welcome to the Texsa group. We are having a sail/BBQ on the 26th. Hope you can make it. Allied Seawind..was she by any chance once named Alexandra?
