    Hello Doug,

Do yiu know by any chance how big is the space in the cylinder head of VP2003 where the coolant temperature monitor/alarm is screwed ?

    The original VP is about 30mm x 10mm and I want to put 40mm x 10mm

    Thanks

Hello DougR - I was searching for help bc the reverse gearing on my 1976 Albin 25 - MD17C - is pooched and I need to have them re-lined. Do you still have the dwgs from VP you mentioned in your 2014 post on the subject? If so, could you email to me at sduggan77 @ gmail.com ? I am going to try to find a brake shop that can do the repair. (I am in Canada) Thank you very much (either way!)

    Hi DougR,
I live in Brazil, and can't find usefull help from no one here. If you could please give me some light on it, i'd appreciate a lot
I've purchased a 28ft sailboat in wich i have a VP 2002 and a MS2B gearbox. It uses a strut system. Please sorry if my english is not ok
It was all fine but some day when i engaged the forward gear to leave, i heard some noise like something was kinda loose inside gearbox, but when i went for 2.000rpm it all worked just fine and kept doing so until the next (long) stop. I have used it for about 30 ot 40 nm, and didn't noticed it better nor worse
The problem seems to be inside de gearbox. I've noticed that when in the neutral position, and when i turn the propshaft with my hands, there is a little gap between the start of the rotating movement of the shaft and the engage inside on something. It's like there is some shaft gap inside the gearbox
By these symptons could you imagine what is going wrong?
    Thank you DougR!

    Hi DougR,

I was pointed to you as a Volvo expert - do you have by any chance a schematics of the cold start enrichment system of Volvo Penta 2003 (cold start mechanism located in the control box on the right hand side of the engine which can increasing the amount of fuel supplied by the pumps and normally controlled by the governor
    ) ?

    Thanks!

    Hi Doug

I have a Volvo m2-40a non mdi equipped engine. Is it possible to add senders for engine data? I was thinking of adding an analog to nmea2k converter box like the DMK AEM14 Analog Engine Monitor, NMEA 2000 & USB Gateway,

But since my A series does not have the mdi box I'm guessing I am limited in getting engine data to the converter box since there are no engine data senders installed on the engine.

After reading your posts I gather that you have a solid understanding of these engines and I would like to figure out a way to get a nice set of gauges in front of me while under power.

    Thanks for your assistance.

Whoa! Thank you, Doug! I feel I'm running very blind; there isn't much info out there on this issue. I would so appreciate that drawing! I hope I can reciprocate some way...
I just found out that we're not allowed to send email addresses. I'm trying again with the address somewhat coded. I hope you can decipher this!!

Hey DougR. my email address is erneststonecipher at yahoo.com I have a running 4-108 that smokes and leaks oil and I would prefer to have mine fixed. Do you rebuild engines? I would prefer to buy a remanufactured engine using mine as a trade in or a rebuilt engine. The one you have isn't remanufactured or rebuilt but is in better shape than mine. I am in Jacksonville NC- 3 1/2 hours from you
