    Hey there. I haven't seen a 35 in person but as a single person aboard I think a 35 would be plenty, we are planning on a family of 5 on our 38. Horstman's are pretty stout boats, the 35 is on the smaller end but just as well built as any. If you need any reassurances as to the quality and durability of the boat do some googling on a boat called Tortouga Too and the Cassanova's. They crossed nearly all the oceans on the planet in every condition imaginable in their Horstman 38.

    Obviously of chief concern would be whether or not the boat was built precisely to Ed Horstman's specifications. I would try to gather as much info about the yard that it was built and the person who built it to get an idea of any changes or deficiencies that may exist.
