    Bob,
I recently bought a 50' Gulfstar down in the VI's, the boat has a 4-236 w/ 7k hours that was new in 2001. I work on ships in the GofM and grew up with my grandfather and his 4-107 so I'm a little familiar with perkins and the damage they can absorb. Sounds like you may have some advise on what I can do as far as maintenance on this engine. the prior owner never used the engine but didn't have a mechanical sense at all. What can I do, right outta the gate, to start a full maintenance program on the engine. I am planning on installing one more RACOR with a bypass and vaccum gauge and a emergency fuel pump. BTW the engine starts and sounds like a champ with zero smoke. Thanks for your help. Corey Muzzey

If it's big distance fm the water, not a chance. Let me know when You take a breather from the boat work.....
