15 lb! That is very dense, nice. Did the foam reps tell you to go with that? I thought you were using 10lb. Makes sense for a mast step though. Glad it worked out.
Feel free if you have any more questions on laminating or painting...

15 lb, around the corner. Itis much easier. Too bad we had this discussion after they rebuild my starboard stringer which they built up with marine plywood over many long hours.... It would have saved me lots and lots of money If they would have used the foam instead....

Looks great! Did your yard find the foam easy to work with? I find it much easier to fit than most anything else, makes the job go faster. Nice to see they appear to be properly masking everything off to keep your boat clean. Good looking layup too. Hope you are happy with the result!

No problem! Just trying to help out my fellow boaters. I think you'll find it'll work out great for you. You'll probably be surprised by how dense 10lb is, 5lb is much easier to work with. 10lb might be better for a step tho, just in case. Have fun! And remember, peace of mind is priceless.

Hi there, just wanted to thank you again for your time and advice. I just ordered the 10 lb foam ( or rather the yard did) and it will be heavily glassed over. I will put some pics on later. Also ordered fiberglass tubing for the limber holes. Thank you very very much. A bit unsettling that my own yard manager did nt come up with this but I guess that it is what it is... Thanks!!! Arjan
