    Dear Roy

Sorry but better late than never. I have split this into 2 messages as too any words.
    Part 1

We left Napier on14/4 /07. It was 2488.1 nms to Raiatea and took approx 18 days. Our best 24 hour mileage was 164 nms and our worst was 129 nms. On the 26/4 we encoutered an unpredicted storm which lasted 3 days. The wind rose from 35Knts gusting to 78 knts but averaged a steady 60knts. We did not deploy a parachute or drouges as the seas would then have broken over the bimini. We had plenty of sea room went under bare poles - only hand steering for about 3 hours and the auto pilot managed the rest. Our lat/lon for this event was 27.35 and 155.41.

Hello Sue, thanks again for taking the time. Any trip info, experience, time it took or general strategy would all be really helpful.

Hi RoySorry it has taken so long to get back to you. We are currently land travelling and won't be home until the 23 Dec. I will write a detailed reply then as I will have all the log entries and dates etc to refer to. We left from the north island - from Napier and sailed to Raitaia. It was easier checking in than at Tahiti.

More when I get back to Yaraandoo II

    Cheers Sue

Hello Sue, I was asking questions about doing a trip from NZ to French Polynesia and someone mentioned that you may have done this trip; if so would it be possible to get some advice? Thanks Roy
