Shoes for Mexico

We are heading for Mexico in November. Down the coast of Baja on to the mainland. Limited space, so what shoes should I take?

Take some sandals with a tread made for boats. West Marine sells a large variety. Also be sure to bring some shoes with more protection than sandals. Bring some aqua socks as well.

Tevas sandles are great, but be sure to break them in before you leave.
Have fun in Mexico

Take at least two separate pair of footwear; non-marking deck shoes & comfortable walking shoes/sandals.

I was a big teva fan for years, but not great toe protection, and have had the occasion where I got abrasions from the straps on long hikes. A number of friends really like the Keen sandals, better toe protection and the pressure is spread out across more straps. I recently got a pair of the New Balance water shoes and have been happy so far, but haven't worn them on any really long walks yet. My reason for trying the new balance was that one of the reviews I read mentioned that the mesh up front does a better job of keeping small pebbles from getting under your feet.
