I love it! What a darling website and mini-Cooper to promote it. I just don't see the big deal at all.

FWIW While you're thinking logically, never forget that wonderful statistical truth that almost everyone has more than the average number of legs!
(Average is about 1.97 I'm told)

Much a loo about nothing
Since we all want to be better sailors it makes perfect sense to be prepared for any eventuality, when it is not prudent to leave the helm to use the loo.
For Example:
-Solo sailors like Jessica can get into all sorts of trouble
-Hypothermia can be a real danger in higher latitudes if you take off all your heavy weather gear to have a pee.
-Just think of the problems with pirates if you have to “go” and there is a language problem, or the chance of a religious insult.
Below is my modest proposal for those dedicated sailors who need to be proactive.
No need to send your thanks!

Interesting device here,
I am not certain that I want one installed immediately, but I see the merit. I am not certain that it would exactly come standard on most newer boat models.

Toilet seat
For the heads users on this thread did you know that an Irishman invented the toilet seat and an Englishman cut a hole in it 70 years later. Personally I think you can pee where you want and how you want on your own boat as long as it does'nt offend other people.

And it was the Scotsman who invented the “Limbo” whilst trying to get into a pay toilet

why is i that 4 hour watches are unique and going before and after the watch isimpossible?? just because a 16 yr old girl had to hit a boat while her alarms were off and she was below doesniot mean everyone is that dense and iggerunt aLOL if ye wishes to pee in a tube--more power to ye--if ye wishes to be civilized--yay----is safer than using an overboard method in a stormy situation.....sheeesh-----women donot necessarily foul the head---just use a bag for the tp and take it to the garbage whenye go to shore....there are garbage disposal places in most countries to be used without cost----use them ..LOL..what is the big deal with the ships toilet anyway??!!!!...

At sea in bad weather, who cares where your pee goes.I have heard of racing yachties using a bicycle tube under their wet weather gear. One saying we have on our boat is"once you use a Lavac you`ll never look back" .Great toilet only needs a yearly cleanout and a pump kit after 3,with a family of 4 full time.

I care, very much, where my pee goes; which is why the rule aboard my boats has always been:
"When at sea, men sit to pee."

Perhaps we should forward this idea to Jessica. Who knows what she was doing below when the collision happened?

Love the idea. as two women sailing together we have spent a lot of time avoiding the seasickness, inconvenience/head&valve issues you mention. Our best solution so far is a thing called a shee-wee, which is much as you decribe except for being personal and got-out-when-you-need-it. You can take it ashore for use in unfamiliar toilets as well!
But we will explore your fixed place idea too, which has some safety advantages.
