Docking at a high wall

Hello, I'm new to the forum, and to boats.

I have a 22' Gazelle by Onatario Yachts, can't find much information about similar models online. But the only berth I could find this late in the season is against a fishing dock.
It's a great area, calm water no matter which way the wind is coming, and the people are really nice.

But even at high tide, my boat is 6-8 feet lower than the top of the wall.

What is the best way for a single person to get the lines off to take off from the dock, and what is the best way to get tied back up to such a tall wall? I don't always have someone I can go out on the water with, which is fine, it's the docking and undocking (trying to rush up and down a damp ladder) which bothers me.

Thanks.

Re: Docking at a high wall

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Jesiah.

See ➥ GAZELLE 22 sailboat specifications and details on sailboatdata.com

Leave a set of (2) docklines permanently on the dock. Tie up first & let go (from boat) last.
