Piedmont land sailing

Hello all,
I am rather new to sailing. Just kidding, very new. In fact I don't have a boat, and I live a few hours from the shore. As far as sailing experience goes, I've only been on one day trip a few years ago. I'm at a point in my life where I have time to go on a few adventures. I'm hoping to use this forum to learn about sailing and the community. I read an article by a writer who described his crewing adventures as a young man helped shape the rest of his life. Anyone one who is interested helping out with advice or otherwise let me know. My name is Alt.
