New to the Scene

I everyone, just wanted to drop a quick note. I am a 51 yr old that has been sailing since I was 13. A lot of Chesapeake bay racing. And a lot of cruising on a 43'ft steel ketch, no not a Bruce Roberts. Subrero Petite prince. She is on the hard now as I do a total rebuild inside and out. Will start posting my rebuild. Love to hear from all.

Re: New to the scene

Welcome to the forum. In regards to steel, I built a Van daStat 29 and a Roberts 34

Re: New to the scene

Interesting you used the word "scene". For me it implies something sinister I am living on my boat to avoid.

Nothing personal; just a bit of word play.

Oh, all the best with the rebuild. I also own a steel boat. You will find a lot of good info on this site. I also found a blog called Snow Petrel very useful. Sorry I don't know how to post a link on my smart phone.

Shane

Thanks Shane! Vers le Vent ( my boat) has given me many years of enjoyment over the years. I did a partial refit about 5 years ago, but it is time for me to get serious. So serious I am bringing my ship home. I could not stand driving 30 min. In traffic to work on her for an hour. It's time to give her my all. I am so excited! My plans once the refit is done is to head North to New England and further. Thanks again.
