New Cal20 owner

Hi everyone,

I'm really happy I came across this site. Tons of great information and knowledgeable people. I recently started sailing and I'm going to be sailing a Cal20 that needs a little TLC. Looking forward to asking some questions to help me out.

Tom.

Re: New Cal20 owner

Welcome and congratulation on the Cal20. Seems a lot of new Cal owners popping up. Interesting what someone did with a Cal20 not long ago ...

Re: New Cal20 owner

Welcome aboard, Sailor Tom... I used to teach sailing for Les Alfred's Jib Set Sailing school on Cal 20's out of Vancouver and Victoria. Les passed on many years ago. They were absolutely the best pocket cruising sailboats for folks to learn on. Many great memories of sailing those puppies back and forth across the Straits of Georgia.
If I can give you any help on answering questions, don't hesitate to ask.
CF is a great site with many knowledgeable folks willing to answer queries you might have... cheers, Capt Phil

Re: New Cal20 owner

Hi Capt Phil,

I'm actually located in Vancouver BC and I'm sailing out of Horseshoe Bay at Sewell's Marina. I just have a couple more small fixes I need to do to the boat then I'll be sailing as much as I can. If I have any questions I'll let you know.

Cheers,

tom.

My old home town, Tom... drop me a post or PM me if you have questions... I'd be happy to try and answer them. Just took on a teaching job trying to get a new skipper up to speed driving his new Regal powerboat. Kind fun to be back doing the Docking Doctor thing again... cheers, Capt Phil
