New Boat - S2 27

Hi all-
We may be moving from a Hunter 240 to an S2 27 - cruiser version - insights and friendship appreciated! We are 56/62 and needing a solid, stable boat we can pleasure sail and enjoy spending time on.

Re: New boat - S2 27

Hi
It's a 27 - when I understand is different from an 8.0. The year is 1985, all freshwater kept, and a survey 2 years ago with corrective work completed in spring 2010.

Not to push another site but you may find some good info there too.

Re: New Boat - S2 27

S2 (probably an 11), is on my shortlist.

From my research, there is a lot of good to be said about the boat, and I have yet to run across anyone who has actually owned one that is negative on it. They pack a lot of space in what is available to them.

My S2 8.0 is wonderful we figure in a couple of years to upgrade to a 9.2or11.0 but for now love our girl. S2's are terrific boats and very livable and seaworthy from all we have learned

Re: New Boat - S2 27

Welcome! I'm fairly new around here myself and we just bought an S2. So far any complaints are very minor, easily corrected and expected on a 30 year old boat. There is also a s2 yahoo group available. Enjoy!
