I'm Sailing to the Bahamas From Clearwater FL

In 2013 I'm thinking of collecting rain water. Sopme sort of upside umbrella with a funnel and a tube !
Has any member have any insight on how to make one ?? canvas? , sail cloth ?
I have a Sabre 28 and there is a group from Tarpon Springs fl . I'm adding new stuff everyday water tanks, solar panels , anchor windless etc..
Any advice would be appreciated Lee

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here. There are lots of ways to collect water and Gord May has sent you some links that might help.
A friend of mine put a drain in the center of his bimini top and when he wanted to collect rainwater he loosened the straps a bit and it made the bimini a bit baggy and he caught quite a lot.
