pirate Hello from the North Bay, CA

I thought I'd take a minute in introduce myself.

I actually found this board while doing research on the Nor'West 33 I recently bought, as a discussion had come up about it and there were very limited returns from an internet search.

I'd been out sailing a couple times throughout my life, and absolutely loved it, but didn't really get into it until a year and a half ago when I bought the Columbia 28. Then I turned into a lunatic, (my wife was worried ) taking it out over 60 times and at least 700nm in SF Bay Area. It was a great escape from all the covid-fires-political madness over the last year!

Feeling a little like the dog that caught the car with the Nor'West, as it sat 5 slips down from my Columbia at Napa Valley Marina for months during which I told the harbormaster, "Will you please sell that damn thing so I can stop looking at it!" Kinda obvious what happened.....
Will probably be hauling it out for a bottom job/seacock repair in the next couple of months, only half a year after completing the bottom on the Columbia which I'll sell eventually.

Dream is eventually to cruise at least to the central Pacific, where I lived for a year longer ago than I'd like to admit.

I do a lot of my sailing singlehanded, but if anybody in the area would ever want to tag along or have me along on your boat, I'd love to.

Jim (screen name is from an old college D&D character I've used on numerous forums).

Re: Hello from the North Bay, CA

Welcome aboard CF, Jim. Enjoy your stay.

Jim and I met when he had a Yankee 30, berthed at Emeryville, and sailed all over the bay, and in MORA in the ocean. Long time ago now, we went on to become long term cruisers.

Re: Hello from the North Bay, CA

Welcome.

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.
