Hello from Kemah Texas

Hello everyone,

New here, I thought I would introduce myself. I live aboard my O'day 322 "Southern Comfort" here in Kemah Texas. I work for an engineering company in Houston. Love the area and local folks. Hard to beat the slip availibility and sailing conditions, although alittle shallow in spots .

I stumbled upon this website a few months back and really enjoy reading the wealth of information found here. A very informative and friendly place, this is.

Welcome aboard. It looks as though you have a lot of interior room for a 32 footer. Welcome again.

The 322 has alot of room below compared to most 32 footers. Many folks compare it to a hunter 36 (in volume).

Hey, Southern Comfort! I like the name, although I drank too much of it somewhere along the way, and have never touched it sense! Guess you made it through Hurrican Ike Ok? Probably why there are extra slips available. Welcome!

Made it thru Ike without a scratch. Being a livaboard gave me the opportunity to constantly prepare my docklines all the way to the last minute to make sure the boat was prepared for the surge. I also live at a floating dock here at the Boardwalk marina that is capable of 18' surge.

Eventhough there are many slips still available, many marinas from Galveston were wiped out. Folks moved their boats here and elswhere in the Clearlake/Kemah area just to have a place to park.

Welcome aboard, I'm sure you'll like it here. I was in Kemah last week looking at Ike damaged boats. What marina are you in? I might have saw your boat.
