Hello from Cold Ohio!

Hello all! My name is Chelsea, and I've been sailing for nearly my whole life, but as it's winter here, I haven't been doing much to do the water - with the exception of helping my father build a sailing canoe. (Seriously!)

I would like to find a "job" as a live aboard crew member in Florida/ the Caribbean... but for now all I can do is hang out here in the snow!

Peace, love, and music,
Chelsea

Welcome to Cruisers Forum, Chelsea! It's a good place to meet sailors from all over the world, including the warmer climes. Hope you have an early Spring!

Welcome to the Forum, Chelsea. Glad you're here.

When I read your opening post, I kept hearing this song in my head. It's Jimmy Buffett's Fins and it includes these lyrics:

"She came down from Cincinnati
It took her three days on a train
Lookin' for some peace and quiet
Hopes to see the sun again

Lives down by the ocean
Takin' care to look for sharks
They hang out down around the Waterfront way
And feed right after dark"

Anyway, be careful if you do head down to the little latitudes. Of course, you've probably encountered plenty of land sharks in Ohio already.

Ha, I love that song! And yes, I do plan to take heed of the land sharks

Hi there Girlis. I'd like to move to florida too, but I heard it's hard to find work there. Then I realized that it's hard to find work here too. I believe that if I'm gonna be unemployed, I should prbably be unemployed somewhere warm. I'm lookin south, as I may lose me job this coming fall (would be perfect timing).

Anyway, I've seen lots of opportunities for crewmembers on this site and others, this winter, in warmer climates. Most are non-paying. If ya got no debt, though, that's de way to go.

Good luck.

Cheers

Bill
