Hi all - new user near Lake Erie in Ohio.

Hello to anyone interested in reading this...

I'm a complete newbie to boating. I live very close to Lake Erie, in Sheffield Lake, OH (east of Sandusky, west of Cleveland). Our town just built a brand new boat launch, and I am suddenly enamored with the thought of buying and using a boat for cruising and basically just spending quality time with the kids on the water.

I would like to use this site to learn all about the hobby, and to understand the decision making process behind it all, in hopes of someday soon buying and using my own boat.

Welcome to Cruisers Forum. By all means, buy a boat! Our family bought a Hobie 16 when our kids were ages 7 and 8, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it until they went away to college. Great family fun!

Welcome Dom. Ask your questions. I am sure you will recieve many different points of view. I spent some quality time on the water with our children. Sorry to say, not enough time.
