Hello from Chesapeake Bay area

My hubby and I just bought a powerboat--1998 Proline 3250 Express for overnight and fishing. We are a young 60's couple--we love the Chesapeake Bay where we want to explore and maybe catch a few stripers. I just joined here as I enjoy reading experiences of other boaters around the world. My hubby had a couple of sailboats in the past--in Chicago and San Francisco. I'm not up to learn sailing so we settled for a powerboat. We like the idea of cruising and fishing the Chesapeake Bay in our retirement. Maybe we'll go as far as Norfolk!--mmharris44

Re: Hello from Chesapeake Bay area

Welcome to CF from San Francisco. I've visited DC a few times and had the pleasure of sailing out of Hartjes Marina near Anapolis and loved it. Very beautiful. Congratulations on your retirement; just joined the ranks myself.

best, lorenzo

Re: Hello from Chesapeake Bay area

Welcome, mm. Good to have you here.

We used to live, sail, and motorboat on the Virginia part of the Chesapeake. Wonderful cruising and fishing, and not as crowded as the middle Bay. Hope you enjoy the Forum!

Welcome!

Perhaps you would enjoy some of my blog, all around the Bay. The trip report tab has a few things.

Re: Hello from Chesapeake Bay area

Hi!
I lived on the Chesapeake Bay for 6 years -- 3 years in Annapolis at Mears Marina - and 3 years on the Eastern Shore at Bay Bridge Marina. I'm now in SoCal - outside of LA. Loved the Chesapeake! But love the SoCal weather )
