We're the proud owners of a 40' Carver homeported at Dinner Key, Miami FL. We're new to this forum and are planning on doing some extensive diving/cruising throughout the Keys and Bahamas. We intend to review this forum for suggestions and ideas to make activities easier and avoid the common mistakes that everyone is guilty of.

Common, dumb, and things you already knew rank high on the list of things people somehow get wrong. Most of the really bad things done happen with a warning or two before the one that gets you really gets you. Pay attention and not being in a hurry usually lets you catch most of the bad stuff before it happens. The rest come down to proper planning.

Explore the forum and you'll find a lot here to help you out of scrapes and perhaps add to your fun as well. If you ever had an idea you just thought might work feel free to test it out here. With almost 6,000 members we have someone here that maybe knows for sure.

It's always wonderful to 'hear' a cheerful voice!
See you're cruising the Med. I was stationed on Crete in the early 80's and where I was really bitten by the Cruising Bug. Went to Rhodes and saw all those beautiful sailboats and just knew I wanted to join them!

There must be a thousand places to explore by boat on Crete alone - and when you add in all the other Greek islands, well, in Air Force terminology, you'd have a target rich environment! I really do envy you!
