How come the southeast coast of Spain has such a laid back attitude? They have seemed to retain some of this wisdom that has come from the past. I guess I wish most of the world did not want to kill the other part of the world.

Re: What did we Learn from the 60's?

I find the courtesy in this thread to be outstanding. Furthermore the transatlantic nature of the musing and reflection reveals a commonality of experience I would not have expected. I would point out that if there were no Torries or Conservatives we would have little to rebel against.

er

The Spain of history has a murky past.
Only now they realised its easier to pirate by taking money off traveling seafarers without killing them....

Boatman,

Do you think Mark was worshipping at the altar of the Russian God Stolichnaya when he made his comment? Or perhaps, visiting the Earl of Glenlivet on his country estate. Or maybe even immersed in a native America sweat lodge and passing the peace pipe? Since you are his spokesman, what would you think? And, were you along for the ride? Good luck, good sailing and may the world be your martini! Captain Rognvald the Enquirer

Re: What did we Learn from the 60's?

We learned that adolescent rebellion is not particularly cute and funny....particularly in middle aged people.

Even less attractive in people of a certain age...I used the term Middle Age in attempt to be civil. Of course, lack of civility was another 60s feature which is not so charming...

Hey Boatie.
Seafrontiersman says you are unattractive.
He was refering to old farts all along.
I woud say the attempt at civility has singularly failed right there.

Re: What did we Learn from the 60's?

I was referring to the stupid 60s counter-culture and attitudes which have done so much harm to Western society.
