Nautical Tattoo Thread

Tattoo? Sorry... can't post one cause I ain't gots one and cause I is what is called a blank as in no tats and no piercings and I plans on keeping it that way.

I did however once entertain the idea of inking my US passport number discretely on my inner thigh... just in case I had a mishap while aboard my boat. But I gave up on that idea.

I also have no tattoos or piercings. I know this might sound strange because I went to the California Maritime Academy and a lot of the other midshipmen would get tattoos on our semester at Sea. I went to CMA in my 40s, so definitely wasn't inclined to do what the young folks were doing. I have nothing against tattoos or piercings, just not for me. I can't imagine how many criminals have gotten a positive ID from witnesses because of their body art.

I just can not think of any picture etc that I like so much that I what it on me forever.

I and seven friends and acquaintances all went out and got tattoos. We were all 60 or over and I think we should have made the paper!

Mine is very tame, on my shoulder -- three shells surrounded by waves. I thought about getting a sailboat but thought "No matter how much I love it, I'm never going to sail again ... so ..."

Shoulda got a sailboat!!!!

I own a tattoo studio and I have no tattoos.

99% of all tattoos are poorly done or poorly thought out and most people live to regret them. I specialize in small discrete tattoos for college students hoping to find work later. I also do tattoo removal and tattoo cover ups for people foolish enough to tattoo a past wife's name on them. I make a good living at it, but I am not looking at getting one.

The tattoo links were very cool. Love George C. Especially in his later years. He had gov and religion pegged pretty well.
