Mineral stains on floor whether you pee standing or sitting...

I try to encourage everyone on my boat to pee sitting. Regardless, the head floor seems to develop mineral deposits in front of the toilet between the cross-hatched non-skid pattern. These are stubborn to clean. Conventional cleaners and compounds like softscrub don't work.

I found an answer:
1- Sprinkle baking soda lightly on the floor.
2- Pour a small puddle of white distilled vinegar on it
3- Mix it into a paste with a sponge/rag/paper towel but leave the paste in place for at least 15 minutes.
4- After waiting, use a terrycloth rag to rub longitudinally with the nonskid pattern so you can rub in each direction to clean out the grooves.

It still takes a little elbow grease, but not much, and cleans it up quickly.

The best, most effective way to use baking soda and vinegar is separately, taking advantage of each one’s chemical properties. For example, as a base, baking soda is a great degreaser, and vinegar’s acid will cut through hard water stains.

Baking soda is a base, and vinegar is an acid. *
When they’re combined, acids “donate” protons to bases; in this case, it’s acetic acid lending a hydrogen proton to the bicarbonate.
When bicarbonate gains a hydrogen proton, it forms carbonic acid (or H2CO3), which is unstable, and eventually decomposes.
Once that happens, you’re left with water, carbon dioxide, and acetate and sodium ions (sodium acetate). The carbon dioxide, gained in the reaction, is what makes it bubbly, which looks appealing. But, once the bubbles stop, you’re left with glorified sparkling water.

As a base, baking soda dissolves organic compounds, like dirt, grease and other sticky substances. In addition, the mineral structure of each baking soda particle, provides a gentle abrasive, to clean, without leaving scratches behind.
As an acid, vinegar breaks down minerals, that form from hard tap water, forming unsightly stains.

* Pure water has a pH of 7. Baking soda has a pH of 9, while vinegar has a pH of 2.
