I thought it was a nightmare I was having that Trump won, but I guess it was real life after all

Darth Vader beat the Evil Emperor!

This was not about who people wanted. It was about who hated a candidate more. If either party had swapped out their candidate a week before he election with the worst plane jane candidate that no one had heard of, it would have been landslide win.

Reality for cruising it won't have much impact. Everywhere we travel people may or may not like our government but they always love the people.

How did you come up with that? Many mainstream Republicans do not support Trump

Most of what is said is speculative. For real, the European boats will be more expensive to Americans, with the dollar coming down face to the Euro.

'just the numbers,- not who supports an individual. The same party will control the House, the Senate and the Presidency. Many government actions are driven by party bias. I'm not pleased with the outcome of the election, but I'm grasping for a "silver lining".

Re: Cruiser's perspective..If Trump wins?

It isn't just that he won but he beat her soundly.

I have predicted this win since the campaign began.

People are tired of left wind politically correct whining and want a change.

Add to this the lack of hope, and the ongoing culture wars which are a result of the fear of the future and this is what you get. White middle class America has spoken and people should be ready for a major shift in policy all over the world.

My next prediction is for a 2nd term for Trump as he will be so successful with his decisive politics he will win a landslide next time.

Get out of the stock market, put your money in NA Bonds and hang onto your hat.

Until the US tightens Visa requirements to a point where others react.

Based on that I guess the US may get a bumpy ride over the next years

Pure speculation on your part. Markets don't like surprise and the media has been hyping Clinton hard. There may or may not be a long term reaction but this is nothing more than the market's knee jerk reaction to surprise.

Until a week or two has passed, we have no idea what the impact on the long term markets will be but odds are it will recover and be business as usual.

For all his bombastic talk, he's not an all powerful dictator and just like every other politician, I expect the vast majority of campaign rhetoric to disappear now that the election is over. (remember the "most transparent presidency in history"? By ever objective measure, it's been the least transparent.)

Your dreaming.

All the big money is running to US dollars as this is considered a safe haven. Every major currency in the world has fallen against the US$ since Trump won. Mexico 13% in hours. Canada hit its lowest valuation since January. OZ$ down, Euro down, GBP down.

Unfortunately Canada is still pushing the left wing agenda and will suffer severe economic consequences under the current government.

Australia and Europe are also in for economic upheaval and the trade wars with China may result in unwanted consequences. The will likely have the biggest impact on cruisers.

Most popular cruising countries won't have an issue with visa fights. They either already get along or they can't afford to cut off access to Americans. Again he's not a dictator with unlimited power.

Not sure what the duck reference is about.
