Best sailing classifieds?

I'm curious to know which sites y'all like for sailboat classifieds. I've been using New and Used Yachts for Sale - YachtWorld.com, is that one of the best?

It probably depends where you are. In Australia, the best sites are Yachthub and Boatpoint.

Yachtworld is where all the brokerage boats go, but not the for sale by owners. For those you have to hunt around In various places.

Hi, blove8.

I primarily use YachtWorld.com and find it to be one of the most professional and versatile sites offering classifieds. With over 100.000 well documented vessels on-line, it has become my starting point for many searches.

I would say you're on the right track.

I would also look at sailboatlistings.com most are private sellers with a few brokers. As of today they have 2316 sailboats under 80 feet.

Yeah, judging by what Pblais said, this site would be key as well. I appreciate the insight all!

Don't forget to do a search on this forum for cost of ownership issues. It might have an effect on how much or how old a boat you buy.

I just tried that link which was recommended , sailboatlistings.com , and it didn't come up here.

There are a lot of places that offer free or low cost listings. You can post one in our classifieds too. The problem is that anything that starts to work quickly dies out since it generates revenue from other purposes. For the most part you need to watch in a lot of places for the for sale by owner boats. The ads tend to be small and not always as complete as a brokerage ad. It helps to use yachtworld as a place to just look at a lot of boats. It can cut your long list of possible boats down to size and help set your price expectations. Once you have a small set of specific boats in mind it gets easier to search them out.

Owners groups on the Internet are a great source of boats for sale. Going to an owners list has a double advantage. You can read what people say about the boats, what problems they deal with, and when boats come on the market. You then are in a position to make an offer on a boat before it goes to a broker and the owner may be very happy to sell the boat quickly.

Here is the link again Sailboat Listings - sailboats for sale when I loaded the other one it worked fine for me. The listing may not be as professional as yatch world but most of them are for sale by owner. I do believe that is where ssullivan had his boat listed.

Soundings -- at least on the East Coast. I don't know about their coverage elsewhere:
Soundings Publications
