My husband had exactly the same problem with tools, by the way. Just sayin....
lol! Yep, went through the same process with all my tools!
my big stuff (woodworking), gave the majority of my hand power tools to my brother, keeping my drill, sander & jig saw. Hand tools, kept 1 hacksaw, 2 sets of socket wrenches, etc., etc.
As I used each tool, I would set it aside into a seperate pouch and while I have not yet gotten rid of the “extra” wrenches, screw drivers, etc. I’m getting ready to do so.
As far as Gradma goes, you’re absolutely correct! We had about 4 different wisks at home, we’re down to one and I beat our scrambled eggs with a fork instead, just like my grandma did! Knives we’re down to 3 - chef’s knife, boning knife & serrated bread knife.
I could go on, but you get the point - if you don’t use it; lose it!
