Smile Sold up and Sailing

At last the time is right, goodbye elderly parents, family and grand kids.We left Southern Victoria (Bass Strait) on our 42ft Savage Oceanic in January, heading up the East Coast to warmer weather and over the horizons. We don't have a time limit or schedule, but at last we are floating. We are thinking of sailing out to the Louisiades in Aug/Sept..There used to be an organised rally leaving from Cairns, but apparently that has now finished. If there are other cruisers thinking about this adventure, stay in touch. P.K. Floating.

Congratulations on making it! Well done and don't be disheartened by the inevitalbe trials and maintenance. And do visit Vanuatu. Linger there. Enjoy!

Re: Sold up and Sailing

Hi PK Acropora,
Acropora was the name of the first keeled yacht I sailed when it was in charter with Mandalay Boat Charters in the Whitsundays 1994. Then it was a 3 cabin version with in mast furling main. I saw her for sale a few years ago with the elephant design cushions/fabric in the saloon. Later there was an article in Cruising Helmsman about overhauling the hydraulics for the furling mainsail.
She is a great boat that should serve you well on your voyages.
Stylopora also featured regularly in Cruising Helmsman is a sister ship.
Fair winds
Michael
