Origo 2000 alcohol stove

I have one. Love it. I noticed the mesh in the alcohol container (fumes rise up through this mesh) is looking very used. Just wondering if anyone here has replaced this mesh and with what? thanks These stoves are no longer manufactured. (For sake of interest I talked with the Swedish buyer of the patent that they may again introduce them to the open market) As of now their new line is used exclusively by an aid agency.

I sold mine with my last boat and had not used it enough to cause the screen to deteriorate. I did have a near miss once where the wind blew the flames down into the stove and caused the plastic controls to melt.

Relieved that your incident was "pilot error" sort of ... and no harm done!!
