Well said!

Re: My boating dreams are destroyed

Interesting thread, goes to the heart of the issues we face today. Rights vs obligations. On the one hand we have things like free speech and, in this case, a perceived right to anchor wherever and whenever we want. But really, with these rights come obligations. You can say whatever you want, but common decency would suggest not everything should be said. You can do whatever you like with your boat, but if it's an unmovable semi wreck then maybe the obligations part of owning a boat has been overlooked.

As a result, today, everything has to be coded in law (usually taking away rights) because we have lost our collective moral compass.

At time of writing this was my post 666.

Re: My boating dreams are destroyed

The decision was made to leave the thread closed. A number of posts have been deleted as they did not meet the requirement of being respectful in print. In the beginning, the thread was political, but directly related to cruising or sailing. The latter part of the thread was solely political without reference to sailing or cruising. Therefore, the thread will remain closed.

There are plenty of places to discuss political issues other than CF threads. The administrators of this forum require that any political discussion must be directly related to cruising and/or sailing.
