Any idea what it would cost to insure a 36' sailboat in British Columbia? What agency would you recommend and what should I watch for?

Depends very much on the value of the vessel.

Likely need a survey.

Definitely get quotes from several agencies: Dolphin, Navis, Hub plus smaller ones: Westland, Aviva, etc).

As Pelagia says, and additional factors your experience, especially on boats of a similar size, and navigation limits , ie, inside waters. Age of the boat may also count ... most don't like old boats. We insure through our Credit Union's insurance arm.
