Re: Has Anyone Thought of Creating a Protected Marina in the Ocean?

Lots of what if's.... that's how things get started... Jules Verne imagined a submarine long before it was deemed possible....

There are shallow shoals 3 miles off the coast of the Florida Keys.........

For the record, when Jules Verne wrote 20 000 Leagues Under the Sea in 1870, submarines had been in use for almost 100 years, and one (the "Sub Marine Explorer" ) was being used commercially, for pearl fishing in Panama. Jules Verne did not just dream up the submarine.

The ancient Athenians said that no idea, story plot or melody would ever be unique....it was already done by a Greek.

Leonardo D'Venci already had the diving bell, long before that. of course he had designed the helicopter too, just didn't live long enough to figure out all the peripheral technology, to make it work.

The navigable submarine was a Dutch invention from 1620:

I STILL think the answer is to reduce population on land. 1 billion is plenty. Georgia Guidestones say 500 million.

Interesting.... The Georgia Guidestone declare the way to peace and harmony with nature is first to do away with around 7 billion people.

So... who wants to be first to enter the Soyent Green factory?

Hpeer.... You wanna go first?

After all is said and done, a hell of a lot more is said than done.

The Dutch don't get enough credit.... although weren't the Flemish originally English?

If anyone knows about battle-ing the seas it's the Dutch. How many man- hours were put to work building dykes to keep the sea at bay? The Dutch could have problems with over-population...Have you ever seen the beauty of a Dutch girl? They are gorgeous. May need some offshore Dutch marinas/abodes to keep the sea battle-ing tradition alive (but hopefully at lower latitudes)

Re: Has Anyone Thought of Creating a Protected Marina in the Ocean?

There is a group that is trying to do just that, see seasteading.org. The discussion for breakwaters is : Breakwater Design - Engineering - The Seasteading Institute Discussion Forum. Are you interested in doing this near Biloxi, MS?
