Hi All. Looking at creating a blog/website so friends and family can follow our trip (not an influencer) with write ups, photos, maps etc. Now days I guess they are linked or attached to other sites such as Instagram etc.

Also thinking about how this is done/managed with data download, be it HF or iridium and have been recommended mailasail.

Any recommendations on what best to use?

I've had a blog for many years. Until a while ago I did everything locally on my PC on the boat, and then upload everything once I got into range of WiFi. But the site was unwieldy and ugly.

I now use WordPress for the site, and it is easy to maintain and to add styling and functionality. It is still ugly and unwieldy; that that's my fault and not that of the underlying software. There are literally millions of sites that use it, and I'm sure you can search and find a free "blog" template that matches your vision and that you can adapt.
