Advice on Portrugal Algeria etc Marinas.

I need your help and advice ... I am retiring soon with my wife and want to move Donegal Breeze from wet cork to the sun with a view to be live aboard sailors based in a very basic cheap marina or harbour in southern portrugal or across the straights on the NE African coast. I have no pre conceived ideas where but obviously should be near an airport serviced by one of the budget airlines.
We tend to be self sufficient with all repairs being carried out by ourselves so a marina with service facility would not he high on the list..

With this info we would be planning to fly out and check your ideas and suggestions.

i currently have friends who are wintering in the guardiana,most people anchor for free there.
the link was for the area,rather than as a suggestion to use that marina,marinas in the algarve are quite expensive on daily rates,the best deals are yearly,but still expensive.

monastir has for a long time been a favorite winter destination for cruising yachts,with cheap flights to the uk.

another choice might be cartagena in spain.

i have cruised all these areas,but not spent more than a few weeks/days in these marinas/anchorages.
