I am the latest owner of a Dufour 29 that I purchased from the URI boat donation program and am starting my life as a sailor and liveaboard. I motored "Eleanor" over to the Great Salt Pond, Block Island RI where I'll be spending my summer sailing, fishing and tending bar at Harry's.
New to sailboats, the gear, and the challenges, one thing is making this experience one of the best of my life, the people.
I can't think of another group of folks that have been more generous with their time, knowledge, and resources than the friends I've so quickly made here on Block Island and the sailors who have shared their experiences on forums like this one.
So pat yourself on the back. You deserve it.

Very true, Seabum. We have wonderful memories of gorgeous tropical island anchorages, but the people we met along the way were the best part.
