Sailboat Purchase Surveyor in Ft. Lauderdale, FL ?

Hi, Does anyone have any recommendations for a surveyor withing driving distance of Ft. Lauderdale FL? We're about to make an offer on a 39 foot cruising sailboat, weren't thrilled with the broker-recommended surveyor for our previous boat, and we're not from Florida - so have no local knowledge or contacts other than the broker. Thanks! - Mark

If still looking for a surveyor.. Check the SAMS (Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors) website. Be sure the surveyor you plan to hire has some actual knowledge of sailing a sailboat. Some surveyors will not survey certain sailboats.

Thanks for the replies - I ended up using Paul Anstey, and the boat seems to have gotten a thorough going-over. - Mark
