Can a cruise ship get to the Great Lakes?

Can a cruise ship get to the Great Lakes? Can i join from New York if possible?

There are at least some cruise ships that travel the U.S. Great Lakes.

American Cruise Lines is one company, American Queen Voyages is another (we've done a couple of the latter's river cruises, excellent).

Don't know if that's what you're looking for...

There are a few smaller cruise ships that travel into the Great Lakes. I know Viking has done it. The huge cruise ships many people think of cannot access the Great Lakes, however, as they're too big to fit through the St. Lawrence Seaway. For the ships that can fit, we're generally talking hundreds of passengers rather than thousands.
