It seems the transmission has failed. Lots of growling and no engagement.

In order to get South sooner than later I am searching for a new gearbox.

Not to second guess but to offer possible other solution...trying to offer maybe too obvious of a suggestion
We have a 2p tranny and this past summer i found it had contaminated ATF in it, like 1.5qts worth!
I pumped it out and replaced it 3 times before getting some clean atf on the dip stick. New atf in and all was well, shifting smoothly....
Hate for you to have to buy new or rebuild
