Used Watermaker - Spectra VT-150

Used Spectra VT-150. Have had this for a year and been running fine off my solar panels. I have the feed filter mounted to a wall board and the feed pump I took off the factory metal bracket and mounted remote. The feed pump has a brand new head on it ($220) with 1 hour on it. Have various O-rings and filters that come with it, including a used pump head than is just fine (worked last month).

I have decided to change to a high capacity AC system instead.

System currently installed on my boat in Jacksonville FL. Price $2,800 and I don't plan to ship it so you have to come pick it up.

PM me or text (six zero three) 674-6681

Re: Spectra VT-150 Used for sale

It sure was nice having this in the Bahamas earlier this year. I had been there a couple of times without a watemaker, but having one was big boat life improvement.

Looks good to me, especially for $2,800. I'd buy it at that price. Retail now for that is $6,500. Even if you spent another $1,000 on it it would be a great deal. If it were mine I'd sell it for more.

Some nice clean RO water sure tastes great after a hot day of humping water pails to the boat! If only there was a great deal to be had to get a unit.

Maybe I need to raise the price so it is only a good deal instead of a great deal.

Any boater in FL/GA/SC can rent a car for the day for $100and come get this. I don't know about others, but the money saved to do it is way worth a day of drive time.

Well you aren't first in line and the line is still forming. Anyone can cut to the front of the line by showing up with cash!

Re: Used Watermaker - Spectra VT-150

I have gotten some question from people so I will just post the info here.

-I got this used last year. The guy I got it from said he had the Clark pump rebuilt by Tellie a couple of years ago. I think it is a 2013 model, but this doesn't really matter.
- It is 12V and uses about 6 amps I think. I may be off a little as never have turned everything else off to find out. My 640W of solar easily powers it and makes up for my normal 150AH/day power use.
- It is fully currently operational and I ran it earlier this week after I replaced the feed pump head to test it.
- The output is low. This didn't happen till I replaced the rod lip seals and pistion rod in the lower end begainning of the year. I am 95% sure it is just a stuck check valve or leaking check valve in the lower end as that was the only thing that would be related from doing the lip seals. It has no other indications from the troubleshooting flow chart/guide of a Clark pump problem. I didn't fix as I was in the Bahamas and it was making good water, just slower, so wasn't going to mess with in Bahamas and end up with a problem. IF you want me to fix I will, but I am then am going to increase the price to only be a real good deal instead of a great deal
-I WILL NOT BOX IT UP AND SHIP IT!
-I will run it for you as it is still installed, but the tds photo was just a couple days ago.
-I don't know you, bring cash!

Re: Used Watermaker - Spectra VT-150

Well maybe I will just keep it. A little searching says I can get complete rebuild kit for less than $1000. But I believe only need to clean and rebuild the check valves and can do that for $100 and 1-2 hours of my time including the time to remove and reinstall the Clark pump from the system.

Well the Spectra dealer and expert is right. So since no one showed up with cash when I was feeling more motivated to sell it the new price is $3850.

Re: Used Watermaker - Spectra VT-150

So I spent 2 hours and pulled out the Clark pump, took off the lower cylinders, cleaned the check valves and water ports and put back together. All that was wrong was dirt in the ports/valves. This is an easy thing to do it is just a little tedious because Spectra didn't give much thought to having to do it when they designed the units. It is now making more water than it ever has (pictures just taken).

So price is definitely $3850 and it will depend on my mood at time if I even want to sell it. You can PM me or text six zero three 674-6681
