Hi All
I've had a Reliable / Barracuda, long machine, zig zag. Made
sails for a 60' schooner. A hundred or more bimini's, and probably as many sail covers. Not including bike covers and
dinghy covers.
Needed
sails for my 60' schooner about 12 years ago. Cost for five sails, a staggering $9k. Bought the machine back then for $300. Materials to make all the sails $3K. Paid myself about Six Thousand for three weeks worth of
work.
Boat sailed a good 1.5 - 2 knots faster on most points of sail with the new sails. Also made new rain catcher,
bimini, foredeck awning with this machine. Was going to sell the machine when we finished, but kept it to make
money cruising. Also restitched dozens of sails for others over that period. You can see this machine at
work, dozen vids on YouTube.
Machine never broke down, never. We did wear out one
motor that we had to replace. All the
maintenance I did was lubricated it every other month. Had it professionally cleaned and lubricated twice in ten years and any adjustments made. I won't say it's better than a
Sailrite, but for half the
price, it's certainly at the top of the list.

PS: Don't know the folks selling this one, just thought I would throw in my 2 cents......
