Northill Folding Anchor

Northill stainless steel folding anchor in new condition. These were developed during WWII for use on seaplanes. They are light weight, easily stowed, quickly deployed, fast setting and exhibit great holding ability. In new condition. Often seen on commercial fishing boats. Makes an excellent primary, storm or spare backup anchor especially suited when a second anchor needs to be deployed. Selling because I bought a smaller boat. Located in Rhode Island. $195.

Re: Northill Folding Anchor

The folded dimensions are: 36" x 16" at the widest point x 12". I kept it in a cockpit locker in my Sea Sprite.

Re: Northill Folding Anchor

ha ha, never thought I'd see another like that.

I have the exact same anchor.....I think mine is 20 kg....about 44 lbs.

Like you, I keep it stowed, folded below, for use as a storm anchor. I'd never get rid of it. It's a beauty, rare to see today.

Our local shrimpers all have one on the bow....usually homebuilt.....

Re: Northill Folding Anchor

If the weight is provided it may help attract a buyer.

Re: Northill Folding Anchor

The weight is not stamped on the anchor. I estimate it to be around 35lbs. these were designed to be lightweight yet efficient. You wouldn't see so many of them on large commercial fishing boats if they didn't hold well.
