Diane,

Here's a cool resource for if you try doing the project yourself...

Alibaba.com has folding SS mast steps for between $7USD and $20 USD.

Of course, me in my never-ending champagne-tastes-on-a-beer-budget myopia, I really liked the chromed ones West Marine has - for $47 USD a pop! (Sheesh! )

Good luck!

Re: Mast Steps

I have 2 Pace Edwards aluminum mast steps available. These are no longer in production and hard to find, but IMO the very best mast steps. I have two at the top of my mast where I spend more time than I'd like. These are light and strong, so I'm not worried while I'm up there.

I found these in a marine thrift in Norfolk and grabbed them for spares. They're in excellent condition. I paid $10 for the pair. You can have them for $10 + shipping from 98370.

Cheers,
