I purchased this ICOM IC-M710 & AT-140 a few months back but never installed them. Haven't even taken it out of the box they were shipped to me in.

Re: ICOM M710 + AT-140 Tuner

For those not first in line, I have a similar setup available due to my recent upgrade to an M802. Icom IC-M710, microphone, AT-130 Tuner, tuner control and power cables. Everything is in great condition. Located in Fort Lauderdale.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, AmericanVagrant ;-). I'll only sell mine if yours is sold first...

Hi David,

I'm interested but was hoping for your honest opinion.

I have an M700 and have never used yet. I've been refitting but am at a point to start re-installing all electronics.

Is there a huge advantage between the M700 and M710, enough to justify the expense? There are a lot of things that I need to be spending $700 on and I'm on a budget.

I'm in Titusville.

Thanks,

Jeff 321-607-4280

I'm not sure that upgrading from an M700 to an M710 is really worthwhile, they are very similar. But then, I'm no expert. I upgraded to the M802 for it's DSC capabilities, and the fact that the control head is separate from the transceiver - I'm about to start a remodel of my nav station, so it helps that I can mount the control head remotely.

All that said, it's really your call...
