As a Certified Bernina Technician, I'll bite.
Why are you selling it and why have you only four posts on CF?
Ebay might be a better venue, as this machine (although wonderful) isn't a likely candidate for a boat.

Steve, the first words in his post are your clue that he mostly sells on fleabay.....'Up for sale', typical fleabay vernacular LOL! It's the way they start every post when selling items. Clever username to attempt to fly under the radar, but your eagle eyes caught that too!

Re: BERNINA 880

There are lots of scams using top of the line Bernina sewing machines as well.
They aren't your run of the mill machines either.
The Bernina 125th edition top of the line machine's suggested retail price is...

Wait for it...

Re: BERNINA 880

Steve, my friend who sews all of my oddball projects has probably 7 different sewing machines. She refers to her Bernina as 'my baby', now I know why! I will ask her this week what model her baby is. I would not be surprised if it is that Bernina model as her and her husband drive late model Porsches! She got tired of her Jag once he got his Panamera Executive.....nice life they have.

I've got to believe that my $10 thrift store Kenmore hems my britches nearly as well.

Re: BERNINA 880

Most of those old metal Kenmore machines are workhorses, although I'm not too impressed with one model which was made in Italy. It was also SUPER heavy.

While true, different machines for different tasks. I have a 20+yr old mechnical kenmore vs the computer jobbies of today. It does fine for my basic stuff, but when I need it sewn right I farm it out to my friend who loves to sew. She loves the boat project challenges because most of her projects are more fashion oriented.

PO, I see you sailed South from our old stomping grounds of gales ferry. Hope life is great for you and the family down there. Have a coconut for me during the Holidays, or at least a tropical drink! LOL!
