Want To Buy: Autohelm / Raymarine Rudder feedback

Looking for someone with a rudder feedback unit they would like to part with. I have an ST4000+ and while it doesnt require a feedback unit, I would like to add one to see if it improves performance. I can find them on ebay all day long for $250 new , but I don't want pay that much to find out if it makes almost no difference. So if anyone has one laying around, lets see what we can work out price wise.

ebay will do that to you at times. Keep checking and one will come. I scored one as a spare for i think 25$. But it took time.

It kills me, I used to be marine electronics tech back in the day, and I cant tell you how many of these I threw in the trash because nobody wanted it after an upgrade. I hope someone out there has an old one who doesn't want the hassle of posting it.

Not the ST4000 system, but made a big difference to the later Evo 100 system.

Seeing as you have some experience, could you kludge in a generic rudder angle sensor like this one?

I picked up one of these to try on my homebrew arduino autopilot, but I haven't yet wired it in as I'm still sorting out the mechanical side of the rudder position arm.
