July 4th fireworks

I was at Ventnor marina, just north of Annapolis, this past week end. It is a new marina for me. They had a cookout and watched the local neighborhood fireworks (not organized just individual people). It was amazing how much fireworks was set off. When I got back to the boat my solar panels were putting out 8 amps.

Re: July 4th fireworks

I was out at Ocracoke Island, NC this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised to see the return of the yearly fireworks display. Back in 2009 a very tragic accident which killed 4 people brought an end to the yearly display.

We were relaxing on the foredeck Sunday night enjoying the breeze when the show started. Being at anchor, we had excellent seats. A very nice surprise.

Sailing back home on Monday we ran into a major thunder storm. That too was most impressive, but much scarier. Low to mid 30 knot winds, lots of rain and lightning.
