We looked into the Segway tour, and it looks expensive, but you are right - it would have a big wow factor with the kids. Hope we can do it. There is even a "Segshaw" for the two who are too young to drive their own, and they get pulled behind the tour leader. We have always wanted to ride one ourselves.

Yeah, the touristie things always are unreasonably expensive.<G>

File under "special budget for special memories". Or, learn to rob banks.

Sad statistic: The FBI used to say that some incredible number like 95% of all million-dollar-plus bank robberies went unsolved, versus something like 90% of all new businesses failing within the first five years. The little guys get caught, apparently the ones who are willing to be professional about it and invest a little time in prep...do much better than the average lotto player.<G>

We're continuing to plan our trip - thanks for the great advice from everyone.

Does anyone know if private boats are allowed to tie up at the Mount Vernon Dock and stay long enough to tour? The answer is probably no, not permitted. However, we spoke to an older couple in our yacht club who did it about ten years ago, and wonder if it's still an option.

Might make a nice day trip from our headquarters which we hope will be Capital Yacht Club.

When you pass Mount Vernon remember to ring your

ships bell 13 times.

I got chills when the Captain gave me the assignment.

It was about midnite heading into DC.

Also there is a grocery store about 2 or 3 blocks form the CYC and Gangplank.

One of DC best kept secrets is the National Arboretum......It is very peaceful there.
