Mexican Temporary Import Permit Inspections

I received notice from Marina Guaymas about the possibility of another round of Mexican government inspection of foreign boats in Mexico. Hopefully the inspectors leared from the fiasco two years ago that left hundreds of boats impounded, many that had correct documentation. Temporary Import Permit Tempest

Has anyone received notice from their marina of future government inspections?

Here is the message from Marina Guaymas:

Dear Customer 12/10/2015

We was been noticed, very soon all the marinas in Mexico could have an inspection from the government to check all the Temporary Import Permits are OK. It is nothing to be worry, we just gonna ask everyone please to let us know in wich place of your boat we can find the Hull Identification number, this one must match with the one on your TIP, we will verify every single boat.

If we find inconsistencies on your TIP we will contact you to help us resolving the problem ASAP and prevent complications in case of an inspection

thank you very much in advance

Re: Mexican Temporary Import Permit Inspections

Hi Nate...Just received the same notice from Guaymas asking me where the Hull ID is located. Theyn will do all they can to make things go smoothly. However, have the officials learned how to do this correctly yet? I was a fiasco in 2013.
