Pretty good wake aft of the periscope, it looks like a reef. A reef where no reef ought to be, and that is moving, too, would really catch one's eyes!

The Stena website says their ferry hits 23 knots en route. The submarine might not have fared well to have been hit by the ferry (170m sub vs 200m ferry)
